What type of inspections and enquiries are dealt by the Department?

The Chief Minister’s Inspection, Enquiries and Implementation Team Department carries out inspection of selected development schemes, conducts enquiries assigned by Chief Minister Sindh or Chief Secretary Sindh, and carries out performance review/evaluation of government department/entities/ organization on the directions of the Honorable Chief Minister Sindh.

Who is the head of the Department?

The Chairperson, Chief Minister’s Inspection, Enquiries, and Implementation Team Department is the head of Department.

Who can file a complaint with CMIE&ITD?

Any person, department, or office of the Government can lodge a complaint.

What are SOPs for complaint redressal?

Complaints received directly from general public are examined in the light of provisions contained in Sindh Secretariat Manual. Anonymous applications are usually not entertained. However, in case of complaints of public importance or serious nature, the matter is referred to the concerned department / office to obtain comments or a detailed report. After examination of the reply of department/office concerned, or in case no response is received within reasonable time, and if sufficient grounds exist for further enquiry, Chief Minister’s Inspection, Enquiries & Implementation Team Department initiates a summary for Chief Minister Sindh for seeking orders / approval for institution of enquiry.

Does CMIE&ITD provide legal assistance?

The department does not provide any legal assistance.

What type of complaints are entertained by the CMIE&ITD?

Complaints related to administrative deficiencies, or irregularities in government departments, and misconduct or delinquency on the part of government functionaries, are entertained.

Can I directly file complaint at CMIE&ITD?

Complaints should directly be addressed to the Chief Minister Sindh or Chief Secretary Sindh as the CMIE&ITD performs its functions under the directions of the Chief Minister Sindh/ Chief Secretary Sindh.

What relevant information/documents do I need to submit with my complaint?

The complainant is required to submit the evidence in support of the contentions or allegations made in the compliant.

What happens to my complaint after it is lodged with CMIE&ITD?

The CMIE&ITD as per provisions of Sindh Secretariat Manual verify the contents of the complaints from the complainant(s). Then the comments/ report are obtained from the concerned department. The Enquiry Officer also obtains relevant record/ documents from the concerned office/ department and calls public functionaries/witnesses to record their statements.

How will I know about the result of my complaint?

The CMIE&ITD will inform the complainant of the action taken by the concerned department on the recommendation of CMIE&ITD.

What if I have made false allegation in my complaint?

False allegations attract penal action under the law i.e.., provisions of Pakistan Penal Code.

Do I have to appear in person at CMIE&ITD at any stage of complaint Management?

Yes, for verification of veracity of contents of complaint, the complainant is required to personally appear before the enquiry officer. However, the complainant may personally or through mail provide the evidence in support of the allegations made in the complaint.

Can I withdraw my complaint at any stage?

The complainant may withdraw application at any stage. However, it is for Enquiry Officer to determine, keeping in view the nature of allegations in each case, whether complaints should be enquired into or closed.
